Just Janie is coming home and bringing with her, the fantastic James Gray, all the way from Canada!
Fusing nostalgic Laurel Canyon folk and alt-country grit onstage in a 'songwriter rounds' format, they will share the songs and stories of the music that made them. Join the two folk troubadours with a very special one of a kind evening of storytelling and songs.
James Gray:
A unique finger style guitarist, with a vocal that is hauntingly beautiful, Gray, often accompanied by a rather droll, humorous stage patter, immerses himself in each and every song with a soulfulness and attack that is infectious and disarming. With a broad grin and good natured chuckle, Gray will often smile into the microphone and state matter of factly that he wants you to remember who he is.
Just Janie:
Born and raised in Central Otago, Janie grew up writing songs tucked beneath the Hawkdun Ranges. With her EP ‘Muse and Musician’ surpassing a million streams, she earned praise from The Spinoff (NZ), observing:“If you find yourself on a hike this weekend… daydreaming about Laurel Canyon, it might be the perfect time for Just Janie’s Muse and Musician.” Her debut album Mythology of the Girls is set for release in May, with the titular track dropping February 13th (a good day for the witches).
