Emerging from a classical world, Wellington singer songwriter Rachel Hird has found a way of bringing stories to life through her music. A touch of nostalgia permeates the lyrics whilst we are reminded of the changing landscape and awesome natural forces we live with in Aotearoa New Zealand. Uncomplicated piano accompaniments add groove to the songs and cool, catchy riffs create choruses to remember. Her single 'Shy Girl' from her first EP, ‘Through the Page’, is due to release on digital platforms with the full EP to follow in April.

Bullfrog Rata’s musical journey has been wide and varied. From
busking on the streets in towns like Wairoa and Greymouth to flying on jets to play for billionaires in the US complete with limousines and secret service agents. He has been lucky enough to open for and share the stage with many of his idols these include kiwi legends such as Midge Marsden, Hello Sailor, The Exponents, The Chills, The Warratahs and international blues acts like, Junior Wells, Charlie Mussewhite, Watermelon Slim, Canned Heat, Taj Mahal, Keb Mo, Chris Cain and mega stars, Tina Turner, Charlie Pride and Jethro Tull.
When covid struck the world in in 2020 and Aotearoa experienced a number of lockdowns it gave Bullfrog time and space to find his
songwriting muse. Since that time, he has been transitioning from a blues-based artist singing other people's tunes to a singer songwriter who now performs mostly his own tunes.
He is very much looking forward to sharing some of his songs at The Realm on Saturday February 28 with a number of other songwriters.
