Afterlight are releasing their latest album into the wild, and like any good creature of the night, it demands to be celebrated loudly, proudly, and with a questionable number of guitar pedals.
On 28 February, The Most FM will be transformed into a swirling vortex of riffs, rhythms, and “wait, how are there no vocals but I’m still emotional?” as Afterlight unleash their latest instrumental post-metal odyssey upon New Plymouth.
Expect:
Face-melting guitar work
Drums that sound like they’re summoning storms
Bass so thick you could spread it on toast
Songs longer than your last situationship
Joining the mayhem are local legends Darkwater and Who’s Johnson, two bands ready to warm up the stage and your ear canals with premium, locally-sourced sonic destruction. Supporting local has never sounded this good (or this loud).
This is the kind of night where:
Your neck gets a workout from nodding too hard
You pretend to understand time signatures
You leave saying “that was sick” at least 14 times
Whether you’re a prog nerd, a metalhead, or just someone who likes watching musicians do impossible things with their hands, this show’s got you covered.
Come celebrate, come get weird, and come witness Afterlight set their album free like a majestic, slightly aggressive musical bird.
One night. One stage. Maximum vibes.
