Loving soundsystem culture to the core - from its Jamaican roots to raves, clubs and festivals - Mungo’s Hi Fi collaborate for this show with Eva Lazarus, an artist celebrated for her impressive vault of genre-defying music. A versatile, powerful singer and MC, Eva has worked with artists such as Rudimental, DJ Yoda and Toddla T.
Based in Glasgow, Scotland, and formed in 2000, Mungo’s Hi Fi fill the gap somewhere between reggae, dub, dancehall and dance music. They have worked with Major Lazer and Jamaican veterans Mike ‘Prince Fatty’ Pelanconi and Ranking Joe, and with producers LTJ Bukem, Chali 2na and Solo Banton, among others. Whether performing as DJs, playing their heavyweight sound system, producing music, collaborating with vocalists or releasing artists on their label, Mungo’s Hi Fi always create uniquely uplifting experiences.
We’ve also got a sensational support lineup all with strong ties to Whaingaroa and will be operating to traditional Raglan Sunday Sessions with artists including Mungo’s /Eva outside till 10pm ish then Sunshine Sound System featuring DJ Downtown Brown and MC KP inside no doubt with some special guests till close.
