Music Sucks is an indie rock band based in Whakatū/Nelson. It started in Christchurch in 2011 as Sam Wilkinson’s songwriting project and has featured a rotating cast of musicians ever since. The current lineup met at an open mic night mid-2025. Music Sucks has released two albums, Periscope Straws (2012) and Road Cone City (2018), plus the singles Wack Job (2020) and Grown Ups (2025). New material is currently being recorded. Plenty of live recordings are on youtube.
