British rock band Transvision Vamp are bringing their 80’s smash hits down under for the first time in three decades.
Says charismatic singer Wendy James: “I am so very excited to be coming back to New Zealand to play the songs which started my whole musical journey! I remember vividly so many incredible moments gigging in New Zealand , moments of enormous success, enormous love and enormous fun.”
The band enjoyed 5 Top 40 singles in NZ, including worldwide smash hits I Want Your Love, Baby I Don’t Care, and The Only One.
With support from Pōneke Wellington four-piece Dropper. Drawing comparisons to artists such as Hüsker Dü and Greg Dulli (Afghan Whigs), Dropper create dynamic indie rock that balances noise and melody. Reviewers have described them as having a high energy stage performance punctuated by flawless musicianship and songwriting skills that seem beyond their years.
After two well-regarded singles, the band has now released their acclaimed debut album ‘Be A Little Kinder’ through boutique label Particle Recordings.
