INTRODUCTION
The Pillocks return for their first headline shows of 2026 with a double-header at Geihinkan, kicking things off with Night 1 on Friday 13th March.
With a refreshed lineup and a handful of new songs on the setlist, this show marks the first time The Pillocks will be bringing their full sound to the stage.
Joining The Pillocks on Night 1 are indie-rock band Grapehouse and acoustic performer Samuel Max, bringing together three unique acts for a great night of live music.
Tickets are only $5. We wanted to keep things as accessible as possible so anyone can come along (and besides, cheaper tickets means you’ve got more money left to use at the bar haha).
ABOUT THE ACTS
THE PILLOCKS
The Pillocks are an alternative pop/rock band from Auckland drawing inspiration from the great bands of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, but writing songs that still feel fresh and modern.
Straying from the typical 3–4 piece band arrangement of guitars, bass and drums, The Pillocks expand their sound with layered keyboards and saxophone, creating a fuller, more colourful sound that makes the live show feel like an experience rather than just a set of songs.
At the centre of it all are uplifting melodies, meaningful lyrics and songs that are meant to be felt as much as heard. It’s a style that tries to be as accessible and touching as possible, and something the band is excited to keep developing.
GRAPEHOUSE
Grapehouse are an indie-rock band based in Tamaki Makaurau, best known for their win in the 2024 Ding Dong Lounge Competition. They are well known for their blending of genres that range from indie-pop, rock, and shoegaze and they're always making sure that you're entertained throughout. Come and hear the most heartfelt written songs, or the jumpiest of jams with Grapehouse!
SAMUEL MAX
Samuel Max is a soulfull sombre singer songwriter with a similar sound to nick drake and elliot smith. He utilises close intimate vocals alongside intricatly picked guitar parts to create a rich sonic tapestry.
