As part of Te Toi Ahurei o Tāmaki Auckland Arts Festival, Belgian-international pianist and composer Daniel Verstappen returns to Aotearoa for this rousing cross-cultural collaboration. Joining forces with the Aotea Youth Symphony, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2026, Verstappen will perform a mixture of his own evocative compositions with reimagined film music favourites.
Highlighting the richness of community music-making in Aotearoa, this project also expands on the partnership with local talent, a feature of Verstappen’s music ambassadorship, along with showcasing his innovation as a classically-trained performer with a vibrant pop sensibility.
