Ben Chavasse is back for NZ Music Month, celebrating the release of his first single of 2026. Following on from the 2025 debut album 'Boxing', Chavasse has continued innovating within the indie folk genre. Ben Chavasse is a singer-songwriter based in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland, New Zealand. His
lyric-forward approach embraces the indie-folk genre, influenced by artists like Angel Olsen,
Alex G, Japanese Breakfast, and Tiny Ruins, while incorporating elements of rock, punk, and
jazz. He explores themes of adolescence, mental health, and reconciliation through an
introspective, reflective and vulnerable lens.
