Gig Information

The seven moments of Mesh Maps is a set of interrelated compositions written by Paul Smith. The compositions come out of Paul’s research into microsound, periodicity and feedback manipulation using his invented instrument, the Arachnophone.

Mesh Maps mixes traditional acoustic orchestral instruments with the Arachnophone and is an exploration of new ways to conceive of and perform electro acoustic/ acousmatic composition within a chamber ensemble setting.

The compositions are notated to give performers the choice of reading a precise score, a graphical score or, simply follow procedural instructions set to time chart.

The Seven moments of Mesh Maps will be performed live in its entirety (Approximately 47 minutes long) followed by short, improvised sets with invited Guests (TBC).
