Urupa are bringing the heavy to Last Place on Saturday June 6th, joined by Crown The Heathen and Comorbid for a night of thrash, death and deathcore from the Waikato and beyond!
Urupa are a Hamilton thrash and death metal four-piece rooted firmly in old school grooves; heavy, riff-driven, and built to chug. Fresh off opening for Devil Skin, these locals are hitting their stride; melodic and brutal in equal measure, with the kind of stage presence that earns the slot.
Crown The Heathen are Hamilton deathcore doing it properly; they've already got an EP on Spotify to prove it. Heavy, low, and unrelenting; the kind of band that makes the room smell like sweat before they've finished the first song.
Comorbid are a four-piece from Auckland pulling from anything heavy and weird. 90s metal, hardcore punk, jazz; it shouldn't work but it does. Wandering basslines, abstract riffs, doomy melodies, solid grooves. These guys are trippers in the best possible way.
