The Undercurrent presents Sumudi Suraweera!
Sumudi Suraweera is the powerhouse of Contemporary Jazz and Improvisation for Sri Lanka and the South Asian region. Founder of the Musicmatters Creative Collective and director of the Musicmatters Institute of Jazz Studies in Colombo, Sumudi brings his unique brilliance and insight to a night featuring his favourite Jazz standards with long time friends and collaborators from Aotearoa New Zealand.
Featuring Sumudi Suraweera on Drums, Tyson Smith on Guitar, Blair Latham on Saxophones and Isaac Smith on Double Bass, in true Sri Lankan spirit this will be an evening of music both fierce and subtle.
