The Aotearoa festival scene is in crisis. With rising costs and falling ticket sales, many independent festivals are struggling to stay afloat. With the recent announcement that financial pressures mean the next iteration of Twisted Frequency may be its last, we knew we wanted to help, so we’re throwing an epic gig with all profits going to our favourite festival so that we all may party for many more years to come.
Tickets will start at $20 and will be sold on a “pay what you can afford” basis which means that those who can afford a little more can send a few extra dollars Twisted’s way. All of us (artists and crew) are donating our time and expertise so that we can raise maximum funds for our favourite 5-day long, non-stop, fiercely-independent festival.
The lineup is huge and tickets will move fast so don’t wait around!

// THE TEMPLE // [Alternative Ambient]
The Temple is a Pōneke-based trio comprised of producer Jack Woodbury, drummer/percussionist Nathan Carter (aka Alter Natural), and saxophonist Peter Liley. The Temple’s broad palette of influences reaches into minimalism, electronica, ambient, funk, doom metal, new age, sound art, and jungle, creating a beguiling, kaleidoscopic sound.
// WEKA // [Live Electronic]
Based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, Weka draw inspiration from acts like Bonobo, The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, and Massive Attack, weaving live drums, sax, guitar, percussion and analog synths. Weka will take you on a journey from downbeat and rock, through to techno and world inspired music.
// GRAINS // [Progressive Electronica]
Grains were sowed in 2019 as an ambient sound project of synth kids Peregrin Hyde and Calum Turner. Utilising a pair of Wellington-made Synthstrom Deluges, the pair worked in co-op mode on a number of ambient music explorations. After some early releases, they teamed up with their friends Jared Reynolds (Drums), Jed Prickett (Guitar) and Fredd Marshall (Vocals) to form a 5-piece live band, retaining much of their signature synth-duo sound, but dialing it up to maximum crunch. In 2024, they released their self-titled debut album, Grains.
// CLOVA // [UK Garage // Jungle]
Clova is a 21 year old producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Pōneke, Aotearoa. Her live sets are 100% original productions that blend her inspirations from 90s rave culture and genres like UK Garage and Jungle, with her own take on dance music; live processing her violin and vocals to create new sonics using Ableton live.
// OHIMESAMA BREAKS // [Jungle]
Ohimesama Breaks, tune selector and dance floor groover, is known for her signature style of melding heavy breaks, deep bass lines and tingling melodies your body can't help but move to. Weaving together jungle from the softer atmospheric style to the heavy hitters, there's no break she's not found. She's originally from Tāmaki Makaurau where she established her distinguished sound through her community and family, and has recently found a new home in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. She's shared the stage with the international sounds of Coco Bryce, Break, Sully, and Breakage. Expect your daily serving of grooving bass lines, clean breaks, and trace minerals of nostalgia from your local junglist nutritionist.
