Silver Sonics have escaped Whanganui to tour the lower North Island this winter and have teamed up with some local favourites - Seismic State and Electric Tapestry, to bring you a night of unforgettable, high energy rock.
Silver Sonics are an indie-rock, neo-psych, pop/rock band hailing from the creative cauldron of Whanganui. Their sound fuses pop swagger with 90s grooves and 60s melodic hooks reminiscent of Britain and America with a distinctly NZ flavour. You can expect their show to be an uplifting sonic ride with energetic, authentic grooves, catchy guitar riffs and meaningful lyrics.
Seismic State play high-octane alt-rock with a blues-funk soul. A staple of the New Zealand rock circuit, the Wellington quartet is known for a professional, high-energy live show. Since the release of their debut EP State of Things, which earned international airplay and a Top 58 spot on The Generator FM’s Kiwi 101, the band has consistently anchored bills at iconic venues including San Fran, Valhalla, Moon, Lovelands and Underworld Tavern. Seismic State delivers a sophisticated performance built for the big stage.
Electric Tapestry are an alternative rock band known for their unique blend of progressive rock, shoegaze, post-rock, and pop. The five-piece group describes their eccentric sound as a space rock dish of creamy psychedelics, metal chunks with a pop topping.” Characterized by their three-guitar setup, they layer a variety of musical techniques—ranging from shimmering Dunedin-sound jangle, warm fuzz, and funk-infused rhythms to intense heavy metal guitar solos.
