Come to Small Gods to see Moonwoven's full repertoire of songs! Joined by our good friends Lambjaw and Masc/Femme for a night of Howling at the Moon.
Moonwoven is a young band from Tāmaki Makaurau. They bend genre/gender, switch instruments and play queer, experimental, punk-style bangers. They have played DIY gigs in Tāmaki and Kirikiriroa, including opening for Drook (US) and Half/time. They will forever prioritise fostering a safe music community for all marginalised people.
Masc/Femme is a shoegaze/indie rock band consisting of Jey Min, Dane, Trey, and Geo. Consisting of former members of CCTV and other University of Auckland music students, bringing together perspectives from songwriters spread across the SE Asian diaspora, telling stories of understanding their own queerness, relationships, and the people around them.
Lambjaw draws the fault line between vulnerability and power, featuring Moon Hotene on rhythm guitar and vocals, Te Wehenga Moses-Denham on lead guitar, Rowan Pirie on drums, and Netea De Souza-Taua on bass. Pairing dreamy, charged instrumentals with lyrics that linger in tenderness and longing, cutting deep beneath their softness.
Doors @ 8pm. Music @ 8.30pm. Finished by 11pm.
