Gig Information

Incredibly proud to announce that the brilliant quartet Through The Looking Glass will be joining our return to Small Gods on Sunday 30 August.

This will be a Sunday afternoon affair - doors open from 2pm - music from 3pm - time for a celebratory toast then home by 6pm.

We’ve had a break from our usual schedule of “Floral Clocks present…” endeavours as we have been prepping and recording with Dave Kahn and Simon Golding - at Fountain Ranch.

We’re halfway through our sessions - and are excited to share our progress with you as we prepare for the next set of recording dates in October.

* Heading back to Small Gods feels really special, the sessions we’ve had there with audiences have always felt really intimate and supportive - it feels exactly the way our style of ‘chamber pop/alt folk’ should fee

Thanks Luke and the Small Gods team for providing the scene and thank you Jess, Peau, Sarah and Rachel @ TTLG for joining us - we’re excited to share our return to Small Gods with you. It’s going to be a brilliant afternoon of live ‘up close’ music making. ( x - Rebecca)

About the Artists:

*****Through The Looking Glass Quartet

Bringing classical edge, punk attitude and rock n roll heart, they are acclaimed for their innovative arrangements and high energy delivery of rock and punk anthems -

You’ll likely recognise them as the string players backing many of New Zealand’s best-loved contemporary artists on stage or in the studio, but this is our chance to experience them in full flight and centre stage.

Through The Looking Glass Quartet are Jess Hindin – violin, Peau Halapua – violin, Sarah Spence – cello and Rachel Wells – cello

*****The Floral Clocks

The Floral Clocks is a contemporary chamber music collective featuring Gabriel White (vocals, guitar), Rebecca Hendl-Smith (cello), and Gareth Price (piano, keyboard, guitars, effects).

Formed in 2014 as a songwriting partnership between composer and film maker Gabriel White and acclaimed lyricist Richard von Sturmer, the project has grown into a richly expressive ensemble grounded in lyrical storytelling and a modern approach to chamber music.

The collective continues to compose exclusively to von Sturmer’s evocative texts, crafting performances that guide audiences on a musical journey through intimate, folk-like vignettes, and expansive, cinematic soundscapes.
