Future soul singer Wallace presents an evening of songs from the movies and musicals that soundtracked her childhood - The Wizard of Oz, Singing in the Rain, Some Like It Hot, Sabrina and more.
From a young age, Wallace was captivated by music from the golden age of Hollywood, singing along to the likes of Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe and Doris Day. That early love became a gateway into jazz and ultimately set her on her musical path.
After more than a decade living and touring overseas, Wallace is now back home in Wellington. Her international career has seen her tour alongside artists including Sampa the Great, and support heavyweights such as Little Simz, Morcheeba, Jordan Rakei, Rag'n'Bone Man, Slum Village and Masego. Now, with a six-piece band, led by the incredible Daniel Hayles, she returns to the music where it all began.
Wow, what a voice... Just good soul music - Gilles Peterson
