Flannel Hound presents, MIXED DOUBLES!
Two acts will play two sets each, rotating through the night. They'll be covering some of each others songs and generally working together to put on a completely one-off performance. This show is all about mixing up the gig format, encouraging artist collaboration, and producing a truly unique experience that has to be seen IN PERSON!

Phoebe Vic
Rising through the ranks of local acclaim for the past five years, Phoebe Vic is a gathering force. Making the switch from acting to music in 2022, the Ōtautahi/Christchurch alt-pop artist has been on a sure sprint ever since - steadily gaining recognition for her lyrical wry wit, vocal prowess and captivating stage presence.
Growing up in small-town North Canterbury, Vic spent her spare moments listening to her Dad’s eclectic CD collection and dancing to the Spice Girls in her living room. It wasn’t until the inheritance of an old out-of-tune piano at age 11 that Vic started writing songs. Graduating as an actor from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School in 2011, it was many years later that Vic returned to her first passion of music.
Drawing on her drama background and own life experiences, Vic wields her storytelling like a weapon. Tracks like “Wasn’t That Deep” and “Mad Woman” ride the edge between sincerity and self-referential humour, creating a narrative that is direct, honest and compelling.
2025 saw her hit her stride with performances at Nostalgia Festival and the APRA Silver Scroll Awards, as well as winning ‘RDU Song of the Year’ for sexually charged club banger “It’s My Pleasure”. Her ferocity as a performer and her exceptional talents as a vocalist have established her as one of NZ’s most exciting live acts - one that fans have come to know and love.
Vic’s genre-hopping debut album Mood Swinger (due for release in October 2026) is further testament to an artist carving her own unique path into the musical landscape. From country to motown to indie to dance pop and blues, Vic is an artist refusing to be put in a box, presenting a unique and refreshing voice in modern pop.

Armed with a steady source of quality charm and endearing nonsense, these Ōtautahi based agents of whimsy/whimsy enthusiasts invite you to dance, gather your heartiest undisclosed-truths for sharing, and remember to always let your friends know just how much you love them.

Our ticketing model:
When Neck of the Woods nearly closed its doors in June 2026, the whole arts scene recognised that the old model of funding venues through alcohol is unsustainable at best, and dangerous at worst. That's why Flannel Hound are trialling a model which includes a $5 kickback to the venue for every ticket sold.
The Flannel Hound Kaupapa is to leave every part of the arts ecosystem we encounter better off for our interaction. With that in mind, trialling a model like this seemed like a no brainer!
