Auckland 8-piece YEBIISU announce new EP, tour dates for September / October
Dub-flavoured festival favourites new release to follow up 2010s
acclaimed Piha EP, free shows included in Upper North Island tour .
Auckland, NZ - August 6, 2012 -- Following a months of
pre-production, West Auckland maestros Yebiisu have finished in the
studio and will be taking their 8 piece reggae, ska, and dub flavours
around parts of the North Island, starting next month. The shows will
feature full lighting rig and enhanced sound system and include dates
in Auckland, Mangawhai, Leigh, and Kaitaia.
Formed in 2009, Yebiisu rapidly came to be known as one of New
Zealands most promising new bands, and their reputation as a powerful
and enchanting live act has drawn fans from all around Aotearoa with a
blend of tribal drums, majestic horns and bass-heavy grooves, all led
by frontman Jayme Wallaces powerfully silken vocals. While they
havent been around long, Yebiisu have already played festivals like
Raggamuffin 2011, and shared the stage with high-profile bands
Groundation (US), Streetlight Manifesto (US), Unity Pacific, Hikoikoi,
Managers, and many more. Amongst the EP release and a number of
high-profile live bookings, members are also involved in other
prolific Auckland-based outfits including Avalanche City, The Skitz,
Batucada Sound Machine, Three Houses Down, and New Way Home.
The EP will be available for online release from yebiisu.bandcamp.com in September.
