@PEACE HEADLINE YOUNG GIFTED AND BROKE LABEL SHOWCASE AND RELEASE COLLECTOR’S EDITION ALBUM
YOUNG GIFTED & BROKE brings forth the next wave of artists behind Home Brew at a showcase on Friday 14 September at the Studio in Auckland, featuring @PEACE, TEAM DYNAMITE, and THE SIDESTEP QUINTET withsupport from DJ SUBSTANCE, JOEL PAYDIRT and LEGAL MONEY MIKE. September 14 also marks the release date for the collector’s edition of @PEACE’s critically acclaimed eponymous album.
From the loins of Home Brew comes the YOUNG, GIFTED & BROKE movement. Unlike your favorite rappers boutique label, YG&B actually has a talented roster of artists including Home Brew, @peace, and Team Dynamite. YG&Bs mission statement is to champion underground artists, and what better way to showcase their talents - than a showcase.
Featuring Tom Scott (Home Brew) & Lui Tuiasau on vocals, @PEACE won over the bloggers with their debut album which featured a musical soundscape laid down by Christoph El Truento (Wonderful Noise), Hayden Dandruff Dicky & Brandon Haru. Along with them performing on the night, the collector’s edition of the album will be available for the first time at the show.
With 100% production from Home Brews Haz Beats, TEAM DYNAMITE set themselves apart with their debut album The Demo Tape, seeing Lucky Lance & Tony Teez passing verses back & forth like Walter Little & Frank Bunce. Fresh off a national tour and with a new EP Faith Music ready to drop, TEAM DYNAMITE are quickly gaining a reputation for their high energy live show.
THE SIDESTEP QUINTET’s Si-Res & Dandruff Dicky produced some of the bangers on the Home Brew album including ‘Yellow Snot Funk’, ‘Datura’, ‘Alcoholic’ & ‘Everybody’. Expect no less from them as they let loose on their own project on September 14th.
The showcase will also feature performances from YG&B label manager DJ Substance, with support from Joel Paydirt & Legal Money Mike.
