It’s been so long. 20 Years in fact since the inimitable Greg Johnson made his mark on the NZ Music scene with his breakthrough single Isabelle, which hit the charts and hearts of kiwis in the early 90’s. Liberty soon followed in the late 90’s and earned him a coveted Silver Scroll songwriting award.
Since then Greg has continued to endear himself to fans with numerous plaudits including two Tui NZ Music Awards, eight top 20 albums and an extensive collection of hits including Isabelle, Don’t Wait Another Day, Liberty, Save Yourself, It's Been So Long, Now The Sun is Out, Looking Out On Monday, I Got Opinions and more.
To celebrate both 20 years of music and his forthcoming 10th studio album, Exits, Greg is returning from home base LA and is hitting the road in November with a full electric band to perform his trademark melodic and comedic shows.
The Greg Johnson 20th Anniversary Tour kicks off on Wednesday 14th November in Hamilton at the Meteor Theatre and concludes in Christchurch on Saturday 1 December at Dux Live. Playing 10 shows all around the country, fans can see Greg and his full band in Matakana, Auckland (x 2), Waiheke Island, Hamilton, Tauranga, New Plymouth, Wellington, Dunedin and Christchurch.
Supporting Greg on the tour will be old pals Ted Brown, and Kurt Shanks [Stellar*] playing material from their respective albums as a duo.
Band members on Tour with Greg are: Ted Brown (guitar, vocals, harmonica),
Wayne Bell (drums, percussion, guitars), Ben King (guitar, vocals) & Mark Hughes (bass).
