Hear songstress Ariana Tikao perform from her new album From Dust to Light – a collection of songs inspired by the devastating earthquakes in her home town, Christchurch.
From Dust To Light is Tikao’s first solo album since Tuia (2008). It presents her crystalline vocals alongside sparse, lush instrumental enhancement. Tikao alternates between English and te reo Maori – in particular, her native Kai Tahu dialect.
The album was recorded at The Surgery Studio in Wellington, and co-produced by Tikao, Ben Lemi Wood, and Lee Prebble.
