Bill Morris and the Mark IV’s come roaring out of Dunedin, running souped-up folk music on all four cylinders, with AM radio on the dial and the windows down for air conditioning.
The Mark IV’s sound is built on the gritty realism of Bill Morris’ songwriting and a stomping groove generated by a crack band of players including Jason Horner (guitar) Hana Fahy (keys and vocals), Robin Cederman (keys) Chris Butchard (drums) and Daniel Potter (bass).
This is New Zealand folk music run through the grinder of punk and country to create something unique; a hard-rocking, story-telling beast of a band with its roots in the South Island dirt.
Bill Morris’ debut album, “Mud” was recorded in 2012 by Thomas Bell and features Robert Scott (The Clean) Rob Falconer (Shifting Sands), John Egenes and a host of other prominent Dunedin musicians.
