To celebrate the release of FEED THE BEAST, Eden and his band return to NZ to play Auckland and Christchurch. The new album features the single Blueprint which clocked over 8000 Soundcloud plays in the first week of release, the video clip premiering on Triple J’s website. I will echo, the first single went to #1 on KIWI FM and RDU in Chch, and described by the Triple J’s Lewi McKirdy as “super catchy.... infectious hook and the politeness of pop. Playlisted across NZ and Australia the Motocade singer’s solo songs strike a chord with people from all walks of life.
“The entire range of human emotion is touched upon over these twelve short tracks, illustrating the incredible talent of Mulholland…Mulholland has crafted is an experimental, multilayered aural masterpiece that defies genre”.

The album is the follow up to the acclaimed Jesus don’t you get my jokes EP, summarized by one reviewer as being “enough to give you major goosebumps”. His music has been variously described as “expansive and epic”, “haunting” and “fantastical”, and his style has been compared to Brian Eno, Cloud Control, Foster the People and Atlas Genius.
Eden Mulholland’s take on the pop music of the future comes complete with strange voices, ripped apart rhythms, momentary flashes from ethereal orchestras, and all with a complete disregard for genre boundaries. It may well be that Eden’s less conventional path in music - he formerly was a contemporary dancer - has helped shape his experimental approach to composition.
Eden and his band are currently on an Australian tour supporting the legendary David Bridie. Eden is also very honoured to be playing in Bridie’s band The Pills.
Eden is also the singer and writer for Motocade, who have regularly toured NZ and overseas including CMJ festival, Homegrown, Rhythm & Vines and the Big Day Out. The song Tightrope Highway featured in MGMs 2012 film Cabin in the Woods. Their single Holy Moly featured heavily on Home and Away and Hamish & Andy TV, also appearing in American series Life Unexpected. Holy Moly spent 8 weeks in the top 40 charts in NZ. Their highly anticipated return to the music scene is set for 2014 with the brand new album Science Fiction.
