Local band Eb & Sparrow's haunting songs inhabit the spaces between contemporary country, indie-folk, and old-time Americana. Their stunning live shows and the clutch of self-released EPs (The Heart's Arrow and Not for Light Years) perfectly showcase the band's ability to walk the line between the old and the new. Join them for the December Late Lounge, all galleries, cafe, cash bar and shop open until 9pm.
Headed by Miss Ebony Lamb, Eb & Sparrow's smokey countrified torch-songs are lit by a heady combination of lap-steel and trumpet, a rhythm section that swings like a ball and chain and a vocal that flits between the subtle phrasing of Gillian Welch and the powerhouse delivery of Patsy Cline.
Eb & Sparrow have opened for Rodriguez , Barry Saunders, Delaney Davidson and Anika Moa. More recently, thye received a personal invitation from Beth Orton to support her on her New Zealand dates and from the Topp Twins to open for their October tour.
