23 comfy seats await in an intimate setting, set to the backdrop of slides and images of far away landscapes - Namibia, Ubud, Indonesia. The venue is the smallest of cinemas you can find, but huge on delivering impact.
Bob Vincent has been writing songs like a maniac trapped inside a dictionary, constantly emptying his pen to piddle down his constant flowing ideas. Great instrumentals for those songs when words just couldn't quite sum it up.
He has played with great Kiwi musicians - Luke Hurley, Panda, Midge McCleary and has extended the mutual friendship to the tiny island of Jersey.
Joining him is his wife, Monika. A German South African percussionist of 15 years' experience of playing street festivals in an African beat band. Marimba is her instrument of choice, and this time you will tap your toe gently to the beat of her cajon drum.
Together they tell stories of where they have found a joke or two, or maybe a story with a sinister twist. It isn't a set show played many times over, it is organic and raw. Just how they like it.
Songs, stories and slides at Basement Cinema, Rotorua.
