The Nelson Jazz Club Big Band is giving the public an opportunity to hear the new programme that they will soon be taking to the Christchurch Big Band Festival, at a special performance this Friday night. The evening will feature a healthy dose of dance numbers as well as a selection of charts that have not been played at the Boathouse before. Featured are the sublime vocal talents of Sophie Ricketts, who will perform well-known jazz standards with the backing of the rich big-band sound. All door sales will go towards the cost of taking the band to Christchurch for the festival.
