Old School Gospel..
Born out of a rock and a hard place, answering to nothing but the truth.
Call and response format with plenty of emotion is what shaped genres from blues to soul to country to rock n roll.
This 11 piece band has rocked the Old St Paul's in Thorndon for a few years now.
The last show which rocked the ASB GARDENS MAGIC last January gives you an idea of what's in store.
There's another wagon hitched to this Gospel Train this time round. The shows date - October 10, coincides with the International Year of the Homeless.
This will be a BENEFIT CONCERT. Profit will go directly to the Wgtn organizations that support the marginalized via the council's ALTERNATIVE GIVING FUND.
The Gospel Project, that hosts the show, has recently been running weekly music workshops at the Soup Kitchen. Facilitated by Pip Payne, these workshops have led to two community events.
A 'sing along' segment on the show will feature participants and songs that have come out of the Kitchen Sessions.
Don't miss this once a year event. Come early and settle in for a great night of positive music, a cash bar, and food available.
