Sessions are individual and group study, designed for all levels from beginner to advanced player. Two POWER SESSIONS to allow students to quickly zone in on the strength and weakness of their fingerpicking techniques.
Session 1 - 4:15-5:15m / Basics of Fingerpicking and Blues Rhythm
• The Fingerpicking Engine: Chops, licks, knuckles and stuff that will start your fingerpicking engine, ensemble work, plus clapping in quarters, eights, triplets and sixteenths. Fingerpicking techniques for both steel string and nylon string player as well as singers who play guitar for accompaniment.
Session 2 - 5:15-6:15pm / Explore Open D Tuning and Learn a Tune and an Introduction to Slide Guitar
• Explore Open D Tuning and study Richard’s original “Echoing Gilewitz”, a short segment form “Echoing Wilderness”, covered by Leo Kottke on his recording, ”A Shout Toward Noon”. Break down the tune into simple sections in order to build a complete piece. Plus, Intro to Slide Guitar : Simple selections from Richard’s TrueFire Slide Guide Interactive Data DVD software. Basics of how to properly hold and use a slide while fingerpicking simple chords plus fret navigation, damping, rattle, shimmer, glides, and accents.
