The Sanctuary Sounds Music Festival is a non-profit event run by a core group of women and a dedicated band of helpers and volunteers. The festival has been running since 2006 on the 2.0ha property in Pukehou. It is a unique opportunity to showcase NZ’s musical & artistic talent in a relaxed environment. It is a chance to hang out in the country and enjoy a weekend of music, art, performance and comedy. At 500 tickets max, the festival is small by most standards. To come along is to be immersed in a creative community, in beautiful Hawkes Bay, for the weekend. Even the bands become part of our non-profit family by taking little-to-no money for their performance. This year bands will travel from as far south as Dunedin and as far north as Waiheke Island to be part of the festival. Sanctuary Sounds is truly a music community event! As a non-commercial and non-profit event, we do our best to keep the prices of the tickets, the bar and café affordable. So come out and enjoy the diverse selection of musical talent, the extravagant and the simple art installations that create the space, artisan stalls, kids activities and most of all the community vibe!
This December you can expect to see a number of art installations that bring to life a Fairy Tale: Through the Enchanted Forest
You’ll enjoy music from some big names and some local favorites! Plus, a couple of fire shows from the legendary Flaming Maniacs. There will be kids activities during the day on Saturday and even some spooky night activities for the adults. We encourage costumes and themed camps. Come prepared for fun!
Tickets are $95 for the weekend which includes: 2 nights of camping, 5 + bands on Friday night, 15 + bands on Saturday and jamming on Sunday.
This December we offer a Saturday day pass for families which includes: parking in the day-lot, and entry during daylight hours.
If you would like to come for Saturday and stay Saturday night for the headline bands, the cost is $70 which includes: your Saturday day ticket plus camping for Saturday night. If you don’t want to camp, no worries, stay as late as you want on the $70 pass and drive safe!
Kid’s 15 and under are Free!
