A multi-zone celebration of meaningful live entertainment, arts, and our local cultural diversity, A WEIRD NIGHT OUT will feature energetic performances and DJ sets from a top-tier bill of contemporary New Zealand entertainers.

When the well-loved ST JAMES THEATRE on Queen Street closed in 2007, it felt like the end of an era for quality live entertainment in Auckland. For the last eight years, its absence has weighed heavy. On Saturday the 2nd of May, the recently renovated venue reopens its doors. On the night, it will play host to loved annual Auckland Festival A WEIRD NIGHT OUT: presented by global club music big band WEIRD TOGETHER, CELERY PRODUCTIONS, NZ MUSIC MONTH, SMIRNOFF VODKA and PANDORA INTERNET RADIO.
Over the last few years we've been teaming up with the CELERY PRODUCTIONS girls to transform historic and unused venues for our A WEIRD NIGHT OUT series of events. The St James Theatre has been important for several generations, who all have their own significant memories from the space.
