Vector Arena is proud to present The Warratahs & Swamp Thing for a one-off night of country, rock and blues.
Iconic players and creators of some of the finest songs New Zealand has heard, The Warratahs will team up with two-man blues, roots juggernaut Swamp Thing to celebrate the release of The Warratahs’ first new studio album in nine years, Runaway Days.
Runaway Days (a new collection of Barry Saunders' songs) is the seventh studio album from The Warratahs in what has been an illustrious career spanning almost 30 years. This hard working band has entertained hundreds of thousands of music lovers at countless live performances and earned their place firmly in the hearts of the Kiwi public. With over 85,000 albums sold in New Zealand alone they are an established and cherished part of the New Zealand music scene and they continue to deliver fresh and creative songs more than 25 years on.
Energetic two-piece Swamp Thing, made up of longtime John Butler Trio drummer (2003-2009) Michael Barker and fellow Kiwi Grant Haua, formed in 2010 and have since released two albums; Balladeer and Primordium. Barker’s ability to play drums, keyboards and sing simultaneously offers a rare point of difference while Grant Haua’s rich vocal timbre combined with a furious worldly blues guitar style form a notably greater sum of their individual parts. Re-known for their high energy performances, Swamp Thing has the musical experience and charisma to get any crowd up and dancing.
Bringing together their individual creative styles and energy, this is a double bill you don’t want to miss; as two of New Zealand’s iconic bands prepare to rock the stage together at Auckland’s Tuning Fork this August!
