The Nukes -
‘Ukulele will never be the same’
The Nukes are far more than a ukulele band. They are high entertainment. Part vaudeville, part rat-pack, part musical car crash. This talented trio deliver an engaging mix of humour and originality that audiences love.
The innocent little uke is the instrument of choice and audiences will staggered by what they are able achieve with it. Great song writing, musicianship and 3-part harmony combine to create a truly memorable experience.
The Nukes have within a few years of being together toured in NZ and Australia and performed at many of Aotearoa’s finest festivals from Bluff’s Oyster festival to WOMAD and the Auckland Folk Festival…to name a few. Releasing two fine albums of their unique, original along the way.
In June and July the band heads to the South Island to play a string of live-dates which culminate with a headlining appearance at the “Geraldine Ukulele Festival’ in early July.
The Nukes were the inaugural band at ‘Carey’s Bay Hotel’ in Port Chalmers, and return for the first time since that memorable appearance in 2010. They will also perform concerts in central Dunedin, Mosgiel and Oamaru and will also visit a number of the local schools for workshops and concerts.
