Fraser Ross & 04s are hitting the road in January, bringing their swinging set of folk, Afro-beat, and rock n roll tunes to the top of the South Island.
Eccentric, lyrical, & upbeat, the four-piece Wellington band, composed of Jazz-school grads, will be road-testing songs for Ross' as-yet-unnamed sophomore album, which will be recorded in February with award-winning producer Dr. Lee Prebble at Surgery Studios.
With influences like Talking Heads, Dire Straits, David Bowie, & Fela Kuti the tour promises to be a festival of rhythm, lyrics, and guitar solos.
Also on tour will be Wellington-based Artist; Deano Shirriffs. An abstract-painter and raconteur, Shirriffs has created two large works to hang behind the band, and he will share tall tales relating to tour-life, and their creation though-out the evening.
