Inside.Out Open Mic For Writers is one of Auckland's regular hubs for new writing and great music. Bring your new flash fiction, micro fiction, poetry, excerpts from short story etc to read or perform at the mic, up to 5 or 6 minutes. Or just chill as audience. Everyone is welcome from creative writing students to life-long experienced writers.
Music guests this month are COCO DAVIS & TOM RODWELL. Coco is a powerhouse vocalist. Her craft breathes new life into the iconic forms of early female blues songs. [Her album] Haunts(2016) is smart, spooky, funny and at times as funky as anything. - Nick Bollinger, Radio NZ. Tom performs improvised arrangements of19th century blues, spirituals and work songs. By turns wild, angry, hypnotic and sensual, it's as uncompromising as it is funky and some of the best live music I've seen. - Blues in London.
