Bill Direen caps a weekend in Christchurch, when the Simon Ogston doco on Bill will show at NZ International Film Festival (screenings at Northlands 4, Sat, 19 Aug 6pm; Sun, 20 Aug 5:30pm).
At the Dark Room gig, you can expect semi-acoustic and electric sets of classic and lesser known material, including theatre songs from many decades, and from many centuries. Works by Brecht and Bruant, Boris Vian ... with a short film of footage by a defunct Bilders, the 2008 Chrysanthemum Storm band.
