The Alan Brown Trio are a classic jazz Hammond trio consisting of organ, guitar and drums – but bringing a contemporary groove element to the mix. Drawing on influences ranging from Jimmy Smith to John Scofield, the trio has released two albums of original music since their formation in 2007.
Alan has a long history in the Auckland jazz scene, from his funk band Blue Train in the 1990s through to recent work with Nathan Haines. Alan is joined by the incomparable Andrea Lisa on guitar and vocals, and Steve Thomas on drums. The Alan Brown Trio will bring an afternoon of explorations in groove to Hallertau!
