Gig Information

Emergence returns to the Wellington clubbing scene and we are very excited to be bringing you a collection of the most exciting artists from the North island for our return.

First up we are very pleased to have Auckland's Samari returning to the capital for the event with an Audio/Visual performance. He has been quite busy of late with the release of his EP Demise earlier this year on Art Style: Techno Records, As well as co-running his latest club night Klang which has gathered momentum and a healthy following within the Auckland scene. Samari also broadcasts Construct Radio on Fnoob Techno Radio monthly aswell as running the Construct digital imprint.

The line up just gets better and better with the addition of EBM producer Body Beat Ritual off the back of his debut EP Mortal sin which really caught attention internationally. The launch of the EP coincided with a string of live shows across Europe, so he is very excited to have returned to NZ to showcase his talents to a Wellington audience with an exclusive Live set.

Closing out the night we have local label MARGINS co-founder Joe Sloane who has previous played at Emergence under the Guise Norma. Joe is heavily involved in the wellington music scene through RadioActive.fm High Definition Dance Music and of course MARGINS.

Warming things up Emergence resident Paul Dockery will be exploring KIck drums in space.

Bios

Samari
Since 2005, New Zealand born producer, DJ and party starter Samari, has rocked dance floors across the world.
He’s played alongside some of the biggest names in techno, Released EP’s internationally, run ground breaking parties in Australasia, and most recently launched his latest party Klang in
Auckland.

Well known for his high pressure DJ sets, Samari’s raw, driving, Detroit sound always leaves you with something to take away and always wanting more.
His Audio / Video sets have been eye catching to say the least, adding a dark and stunning visual narrative.
Created, cut, stolen and built by the artist and performed using Serato Video, his AV sets enable the full story to be seen and heard in his shows.
Beginning in Wellington, Samari launched the infamous Electroluxxe parties before moving to Melbourne where he kicked off his second techno mainstay Gradient. A party that became
synonymous with cutting edge techno. From there he went on to Europe performing across Germany, France and Belgium.
As a producer Samari has released on international labels alongside his monthly show Construct Radio - broadcast from both Fnoob internationally and Art Style Techno in Budapest.

Body Beat Ritual - live

His name is Body Beat Ritual and his first EP has just been released on Bergerac so I think you can tell how the music has been received in the clubs since that fateful meeting.

'Mortal Sin' has been greeted with a resounding 'YES PLEASE' by new wave/electro DJs such as Alienata, Lokier, Ali Renault, techno tastemakers such as DVS1 and Rotterdam style dudes like Mick Wills and The Hacker. In short it massively delivers.

Incendiary, uncompromising, militant and massively banging are just some of the superlatives which can be applied to Body Beats music so it gives Bergerac and Rye Wax great pleasure to present his first ever UK live show. Expect edgy, dark wave, techno, new beat and electro bangers delivered in an intense shouty style.
