Every year, the bells chime, the treetops glisten, the reindeer hoof up and the hum of the humdrum year before gently falls away, oh and the goddamn Eastern do a christmas show.
What goes around comes around and The Eastern take it as a point pride that as the years tick and the clocks tock that they still remain upright 12 years after they decided to make their first stand. For the last few goes around they've used their local shows as an opportunity to pitch in and shore up local things that could use a collective shoulder, with money, food and solidarity they've been able to help here and there a little sometimes and a lot others. This christmas is no different, asking attendees to show up at the door with a child's Christsmas present big or small, that can be donated to those who's resources are stretched and could use a little good cheer.
They will be joined in the show, at Woolston's own Cassels Blue Smoke by spiritual and musical godfather, gentleman of the road and lead Warratah, Barry Saunders.
