The Dunedin Youth Orchestra presents its first concert for 2020 featuring our very own soloist and winner of the Young Musician Award for 2019 (The Polson Higgs Award), Sophie Hamer who will be playing the Saint Saëns Concerto for Cello. Our guest conductor is Beth Cohen from Christchurch, who has previously worked for 30 years in the New York metropolitan area, and now guest conducts around NZ and runs her own orchestral programmes in Christchurch. The programme includes The Moldau (Smetna), Danzon (Marquez) and Parihaka (Ritchie) and more.
