Gig Information

Dan Sharp is excited to bring his Water Went Away Tour to Waihi's 'The Theatre'. Supported by Wildlanes (talented up and coming soul artist from Mt Maunganui), this show will be intimate, unique and a chance to catch two exciting, high quality acts locally and for a very affordable price.

Press release;
Brought up in grassroots Aotearoa, Dan is a man of substance, dedication and one who prioritises authenticity. His commitment to his craft as an artist, songwriter and music producer runs deep and the results speak for themselves.

2019’s self-produced single, ‘Kindle and Coal’ (500,000+ Spotify streams), displayed Dan’s ability to deliver a modern impact and vulnerability (think Lewis Capaldi or Dermot Kennedy) while maintaining his Springsteen-esque timelessness. This recipe has seen Dan's name on stages all over the country, including Rhythm and Vines, Soundsplash, touring NZ with Thomas Oliver and opening up for Dave Dobbyn.

Hot on the heels of a management and booking agency agreement, Dan signed with boutique label, Tenfold Records. He has gone on to receive NZonAir funding, feature on Breakfast TV and worked with renowned Mix Engineer/Producer, Si Gooding, at NZ’s famed Roundhead Studios.

The resulting single, ‘The Way That You Used To’ released February 19th to a strong response, and has set the stage for the remainder of his EP, ‘Water Went Away’. In support of the new work, Dan is hitting the road all over New Zealand, playing intimate venues from Auckland all the way down to Invercargill. Every setting will be unique as Dan brings to the live stage his latest release, older tracks and songs set for later 2021.
