The 16 May Songwriters’ Showcase features the work of three more local songwriters.
Bill Lake – A rare live appearance by a living legend of Wellington music. “At a board meeting of the stalwarts of Wellington’s R&B scene, Bill Lake would sit near the top of the table.” - AudioCulture
Alan Downes- Alan sings original lyrical ballads about the good times and how bad times make the best yarns. His songs are (mostly) true stories of people and places told with careful observation, a good dollop of humour and a little nostalgia.
O Juliet - Songwriter, singer and keyboard player O Juliet’s music spans folk and jazz, blues and soul, gentle rock and a “drop of pop”. A misty blend of pure, heartfelt lyricism cut against unexpected twists and twilight stylings.
