Girls night on the moon! Come experience some of the finest feminine fun the Poneke music scene has to offer! A night of intimate acoustic songwriting, groovy pop tunes, and high energy jazz rock! Opening the night is the formidable Danica Bryant! Danica Bryant is a force to be reckoned with. A pop-folk singer-songwriter with a gritty rock-edge, her music tackles provocative themes from celebrity culture to neurodiversity through an unabashedly queer feminist lens. Her “playful indie pop” (Rolling Stone) has seen her open for legends like Elton John and Robbie Williams, hit #2 on the NZ Hot Singles Chart with her 2024 release ‘Acid’, and undergo mentorship with Kiwi icon Bic Runga. With her upcoming debut album ‘Feast’ out this August, Bryant is “venomous yet passionate” (Ambient Light), “cynical but emotional” (NZ Musician), and an unapologetically fresh voice on the pop music scene.
Next up is the relentlessly charming Jeline - an indie-pop-rock artist who's writing songs about feelings she can't contain to herself and belting her heart out to whoever's listening! From songs about first love to obsessing over exes, Jeline's relatability and vulnerability is always packaged in a song you can bop along to! During her live gigs, her playful and slightly (extremely) chaotic self comes to life with the help of her lovely band. With her meaningful lyrics, powerhouse vocals and charming personality, Jeline's sure to hop on your radar!
Finally, New Teeth. New Teeth are a three piece jazz rock band who, despite having only formed recently, have made an incredible first impression on Wellington audiences. Bringing a variety of groovy sounds from energetic bangers to heartfelt crooning ballads, New Teeth are sure to leave you wanting more. Their songs are catchy, fun, with an added flourish of political messaging. They're also cool. And sexy. They are adamant of it. Fronted by Captain Lesbo herself (Floyd Marsden), with violin from Shanita Sungsuwan, drums from Cam Brizzle, and bass from Tane Kelly, their quirky stage presence and incredible musicianship makes for an unforgettable live performance.
