The 1 August Songwriters' Showcase features the work of three more local songwriters.
Bill Wood - Bill has been playing music around Wellington for a number of years, in recent times as a member of the Kelburn Viaduct Municipal Ensemble Jug band, Wellington Heads, and ⅓ Octave Band. He will be playing a number of songs that he’s written over the past few years, mainly for others to sing, plus some that fell behind the sofa but were re-discovered while cleaning the house.
Carol Bean - Carol’s songs tell of exotic road trips, slow trains, and the proverbial blues laments about poetic lost love ‒ “mountains are made from shadows; hours are made of time.…” Carol will be showcasing some brand new material and favourite songs from her three studio albums. She will be accompanied by Nick Swann.
Neil Worboys - Neil has been playing his own music (and the music of others) for the last 50 + years. He’s played with stars and in late night bars and in many bands and ensembles – playin’ rock music, jug music, jazz you can use, country and weirdo and those rhythm n blues…

Carol Bean - from 8:00pm; and
Neil Worboys - from 9:00pm
