Some of Aotearoa’s finest music luminaries gather at NCMA for one night only, with the Lucien Johnson Quartet promising a sumptuous evening of mesmerising music.
Described as “a saxophonist and composer of rare excellence and mettle,” by the Arts Foundation 2018, Lucien Johnson was the winner of the 2021 APRA New Zealand Jazz composition of the year and has been twice nominated for Jazz Artist of the Year.
Known for his powerful and evocative sound, this gig will feature tracks from his newly released album Wax///Wane, which has already garnered international attention.
Joined by highly regarded musicians Jonathan Crayford (piano), Tom Callwood (double bass) and Cory Champion (drums), this event promises to be one your ears will never forget.
