Welcome to Nowhere is returning next February for its sixth annual music and arts festival!
Hosted by Te Whanganui-a-Tara based Eyegum Music Collective, the sixth installment of the two-day indie festival will be held over Waitangi weekend, 5-6 February 2022, at a secluded undisclosed location near Whanganui. The event will once again showcase a broad range of music, poetry, performance and visual art produced by some Aotearoa’s most talented and exciting independent artists. Festival goers will spend the weekend in a beautiful idyll, surrounded by bush, birds and new friends. On arriving in Nowhere, you will find a festival experience that is entirely unique and a community atmosphere that is welcoming and open. Choose between dancing to incredible musicians from all around the motu, listening to award winning poets and comedians or taking a dip in the swimming hole which sits sheltered in a limestone ravine. Attendees can immerse themselves in innovative art installations or watch theatre performed with the rolling green hills of the Manawatu as a backdrop. Now an integral fixture within the local alternative music and creative scene, Eyegum continues work tirelessly to build and improve on previous years. In doing so, we aim to make Welcome to Nowhere 2022 the best little festival on offer this summer to those who are willing to make the trip.
