Latinaotearoa is about to release a new song after a couple of years and is throwing a party for it at the Ponsonby Social Club.
Also part of the venue's NZ Music Month concerts.
During an afternoon listening session that drifted through varying genres, finding its way into Brazilian boogie, the Latinaotearoa crew felt inspired.
They decided to draw upon the pure joy and unadulterated fun of 1970's Brazil to create a disco-inspired track, with that unique, Latinaotearoan twist.
Quintessential kiwi bassist Chip Matthews joins band members, Jennifer Zea, Guy Harrison, Antonio Karam and Bobby Mukai to craft what is already feeling like something special. Guy's disco flavoured guitar riff sets the tone for Chip's funk-induced bassline, driving the track into boogie territory for Jennifer to add that layer of alluring vocals. With Antonio's percussion and Bobby's direction, the team has created a retro-influenced, future dancefloor hit which simply screams summer.
