Art Rock engineers Sheeps are heading to Napier this November for one night of Progressive, Indie, Arty Guitar Rock, with support from HB natives Dos-Ovni and de Lune!
In preparation for the release of their debut album, and making their HB debut at Paisley Stage, Sheeps are renowned for eliciting gaping-mouthed, stuttered responses from their audiences.

Sheeps:
Sheeps remains an enigma within the Wellington music scene, rarely performing live and still without an official release after six years as a band. This is set to change, however, with both the band’s debut single and debut full-length album – recorded, mixed, and produced by respected Wellington producer/engineer James Goldsmith – due for release in 2023.
Though Sheeps was born from writing sessions between brothers/guitarists Dean & Simon Blackwell in an Oriental Bay basement in 2015, the band didn’t begin in earnest until the addition of third guitarist Grace Baker, drummer Thomas Friggens, and bassist Blain Fitzpatrick the following year. The band quickly amassed a cult following and began to draw comparisons to the shifting, evolving art rock structures of Radiohead, the affecting and often bleak lyricism of The Smiths, and the grandiose atmospherics of post-rock bands Jakob & Mogwai. In the years since, Sheeps’ following and profile have continued to grow, bolstered by their recent inclusion on the 2021-2022 lineup for legendary New Zealand music festival Twisted Frequency.
