WELLYFEST 2022 IS ALMOST HERE!
Not long to go now until this year’s Wellington Folk Festival.
And you can still get tickets for this wonderful gathering, that will run over four days at Labour Weekend, October 21-24, at the Brookfield Outdoor Education Centre in Moores Valley.
Wellyfest 2022 will be another celebration of home-grown diversity, with a packed programme of musical acts from around New Zealand.
From the Wellington area we have the Andrew London Duo, the Shicka Chickas, Butter Wouldn’t Melt, Cotton Daisy Backstep and Nigel Parry.
From further afield - Fiddlesticks, You,Me, Everybody, Celtic Ferret, and The Penmans.
There’s a spotlight on New Zealand songs and traditions this year, with concerts and workshops featuring Chris Priestley and Julian McKean.
Te Reo will have a prominent place, with music from WAI.TAI.
There’s a big focus too on offerings for young people, with youth concerts and workshops, and there’s a full dance programme.
