Prepare to fall in love with emerging alt-indie artist Goodnight My Darling (Maxine
Macaulay), beginning with her ethereal wonder self-titled debut album.
The Te Whanganui-a-Tara songwriter, producer and
vocalist, is showcasing immense growth in her sound. She has moved away from her
previously released electronic music into glittery, hypnotic, shoegaze, indie-alt-band joy.
Think French for Rabbits, Nadia Reid, Aldous Harding and Angel Olsen.
The album is introspective, soothing and an absolute triumph for the up-and-coming artist,
who draws on her adventures living and performing abroad in Melbourne, Japan and most
recently Berlin.
With the exception of the drums and cello being recorded at The Surgery in Wellington,
‘Goodnight My Darling’ the album was recorded & mixed by Toby Lloyd at Tiny Triumph
Recordings, then mastered by Robin Schmidt @ 24-96 Mastering in Berlin. Goodnight My
